I Wonder, Therefore I Am. . . .

*I wonder why my nose always itches every time I wash dishes.

*I wonder if it really is going to snow tonight or tomorrow like the weather forecaster predicts. It was a really nice, warmer day today. I even had to open the screen door for an hour or so because it got stuffy.

*I wonder if I can find heart shaped sprinkles for a little Valentine's Day baking project.

*I wonder what to do to help ease "growing pains".

What do you wonder about?

Enough With The Eggs Already!!!!

Variety, they say, is the spice of life. If so, breakfasts around here are of the not so spicy variety. I struggle with finding quick, yummy breakfasts that everybody enjoys. I have tried making pancakes or waffles and freezing them. I have tried muffins- both sweet and savory. I have tried eggs a hundred, thousand different ways. I have tried yogurt and cereal parfaits. I have tired sandwiches and rice balls.

What are your favorite breakfast foods? Believe me, I need all the help I can get!

Am I The Only One. . . .

*that eats chocolate after the kids go to bed, just so I don't have to share?

*that sometimes locks myself in the bathroom just to get a few minutes of peace and quiet?

*that likes Jacob more than Edward in the Twilight series?

*that can't stand to throw a book away, even when the kids have already torn out and lost half of the pages?

*that takes a shower at night before going to bed and another in the morning ?(and not just during Japan's humid summers either)

*that wants it to hurry up, and like, be fall already?

*that feeds their kids things they don't even eat? (natto and sushi, for example)

*that falls asleep while putting the kids asleep? (and most of the time well before the kids themselves fall asleep)

Add on in the comments, if you dare!!

I May, But Then Again I Might Not Have. . . . .

*let the kids use a whole roll of packing tape to hang "paper laundry" around the living room.

*let the kids blow bubbles in the house.

*put the kids in their bathing suits and let them play in the bath tub for an hour or two or three.

*pulled out a pair of Sophie's "accident panties" from my bag instead of my wallet when I tried to pay for the groceries today.

*made, and actually enjoyed the making of, household cleaners.

*made homemade bread for the first time last week.

So, what do you think? Which of these are true and which of these are false? Leave your guesses in the comments, please.

How Do You Know You Are Homesick?

When you spend around three bucks for a Hershey's with almonds.

When you spend at least twenty minutes in the laundry aisle of the discount store contemplating whether or not to but dryer sheets because the smell reminds you of your childhood. And you don't even have a clothes dryer.

When you see an airplane fly overhead and wish you were on it.

When you could swear that you just saw your mom walking down the sidewalk.

When you think about how much fun it would be to take a cooking class with your sisters.

When you start jabbing away at the cashier about nothing in particular and she tries her best to ignore you. (Is it just me or does anybody else miss chatting with the cashier while she rings up your purchases??)

When?

When will I be able to breath through my nose again?

When will my kids be able to get a full night's sleep without waking up with a coughing fit every few hours?

When will the salesclerk learn that treating me as if I am invisible isn't the best sales tactic in the world?

When will I get a new cell phone or at least a new battery for my current one?

When will I be fluent in Japanese?

When will the weather forecaster get it right?

When will I find that lost Elmo sock?

When will I remember that coupons are only good if you actually remember to bring them with you?

When. . . . . (feel free to fill in the blank)

Sometimes. . . . .

Sometimes I close my ears and pretend I don't hear them fighting over that toy for the 83rd time today.

Sometimes I fall asleep during the bedtime story.

Sometimes I throw the kids in a bathtub full of bubbles and call them clean.

Sometimes I pretend I don't understand Japanese.

Sometimes I order pizza after the kids are in bed.

Sometimes I take the batteries out of toys because I can't stand it anymore.

Sometimes I waste a whole day at Starbucks just reading and people watching.

Sometimes I save the last piece of chocolate for me.

Sometimes I stay up too late window shopping on the Internet.

Sometimes I say the DVD player is taking a nap so I don't have to watch Thomas yet another time.

Sometimes I use that exact same Thomas DVD so I can enjoy a few minutes of silence, or take a nap.

Sometimes I encourage Bailey to use his sleeve as a tissue.

Sometimes I serve spaghetti and white rice for dinner.

Sometimes I laugh when I really shouldn't.
