Four!

On Sunday morning, my sister-in-law called and said that she would be over in about half an hour to pick up Bailey. They were going to Toys 'R Us to pick out that little blue beauty you see- Bailey's first "big boy, so fast, faster than Spider Man" bike. To say he was excited is an understatement. It was getting cold and dark, but we couldn't get him to come inside. That is, until somebody mentioned birthday cake.....

The cake, of course, had to be Thomas and had to have strawberries- lots of them.
Chowing down on the chocolate plate on which Thomas was drawn. In addition, Bailey had about three pieces of cake. It was, after all, his birthday (weekend).
Not the best picture, but, I had also ordered a cake for Monday (Bailey's actual birthday) in yet another beloved Thomas character- Cranky. I was really impressed with the way it was drawn. Hubs also has a birthday this week- you think he'd want a Thomas cake, too?

Dear Mom,

Isn't it funny how the day is just starting for you but is almost over for me? Miles separate us but the things that you taught me, the values you instilled in me tell me that you are always near by. Those values go into every decision that I make from what to make for dinner to how to raise the kids. I draw from your strength and example everyday.

You show me the kind of person that I want to be. I am proud to call you Mom.

Happy Birthday, Andy!

Amanda (my little sister) and Andy on their wedding day. Just the other day, as we were eating breakfast, Bailey said, "I miss Big Guy (his name for Andy). Let's go see him." He settled for looking at pictures from the wedding.
