Just Wondering......

OK, foreign moms, I just finished watching the TV show My Wife Is A Foreigner and as usual, they gave the featured guest money for a party featuring foods from the wife's home country. Tonight the wife was from the States and she made green beans, pork chops and apple sauce. That got me to thinking, what I would make if I was on the show.

I think I would make some fried chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese and for dessert some kind of cobbler, ohhh, peach cobbler sounds really, really good right now.

So, now, foreign moms it is your turn. What would you make if you appeared on the TV show?

(PS- I added a pic of the special shoe soap that I used to my previous post about indoor shoes. Scroll on down if yo are interested.)

when victoria was on the show, the producer went through a british cook book that she had (mainly for the pictures and to show japanese students what british food looks like. she rarely cooks british food at home.) he pointed at pictures and finally decided on the guiness beef and baked trout...

anyway, if i were on the show (never going to happen, but...) i would make hamburgers!! on the grill. with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and maybe cheese. and if i were doing BBQ, i would do BBQ chicken and ribs, too (american style--WITH BONES! lol) then lots of salads--potato salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, bean salad. and, don't forget the 'mexican' appetizers! lol

Corn tortilla chicken soup and a black bean salad with homemade salsa. For dessert cornbread dripping with butter and honey.

I am so hungry.

I would make a roast beef dinner with roasted vegetables and a salad. For dessert I would make a Dorothy Blevin's Cake which is a pineapple cake with a cream cheese icing. My mom makes this dinner for me every time I go home.

just let me know when dinner is served, ladies! even living here in the states, my girls eat so few foods, and nothing fun to cook, so i usually eat frozen meals. ick

This is a hard one. "American food" is your typical hamburgs and chicken on the grill! I'd have to do something on the grill too. Nothing is better than a well marinated piece of chicken with corn on the cob.
Dessert . . . maybe homemade ice cream. When it's made fresh it's soooo good!

I`m Canadian so I suppose I would have to make something with salmon, poutine, and something with maple syrup. Not a lot of options.

P.S. Thanks for the pic of the shoe soap!

Not really Canadian but I'd like to make perogies with kielbasa. That's what I've requested for Sunday night when I arrive home!
Or maybe I'd make a tourtiere meat pie if it was winter. Yum Yum. Nanaimo bars and butter tarts for dessert.
