At A Snail's Pace

Yikes! Is it really only Tuesday? I thought it was Friday or at the very least Wednesday. For some reason time is moving along at a snail's pace or maybe even slower.

There is only a little over a week left of pre-school before summer vacation and the last four days will only be half days so that the parents can have conferences with the teachers in the afternoons. My conference is scheduled for Friday the 11th at 1:00. Bailey will get home around 12:20, change clothes, maybe grab a quick lunch from McDonald's if we have the time and race back to the pre-school. I am hoping that I can coax Sophie into taking a nap early that day, but we will have to wait and see.

The parents have a couple of homework assignments while the kids are out for summer break. First, for the sports festival we have to make a hat following the theme of the sports festival. Last year it was countries of the world (Bailey was Africa. Think elephants, giraffes and lions on his hat.) This year the theme is Momotaro (The Peach Boy) a Japanese fairy tale. His class is going to be the pheasant from the story. Second of all, we have to make something for the bazaar that will be held in late fall. Last year I made a book bag and I might do the same this year. They are pretty easy to put together. So, looks like I will be doing my fair share of sewing this summer.

On a funny note, eating donuts at the food court the other day, a woman came up to Bailey and started speaking English.
She: "Where are you from?"
He: "Japan."
She: "No, where are you originally from?"
He: "Japan."
She shifted her gaze to me, but I just looked away.

And Bailey should feel proud, and so should you. :)

HA HA HA! That little conversation is awesome! I love how kids are so innocent and can still confound adults! I would've loved to see the look on that ladies face.

Good luck with your summer projects!
