"Fall"ing In Love, Again

Today, I escaped into the city to study at Starbucks (and to continue the search for the perfect not-too-big-but-not-too-small-bag). On the train as I was fiddling with my I-pod trying to find the songs that I downloaded last night, a woman sit down beside me. I shifted in my seat, glanced up and what I saw made me want to yell out loud. She was wearing a turtleneck. And this morning, I put Sophie in an undershirt, a long sleeved bodysuit, a cardigan and a little knitted cap for good measure. Bailey, that dear sweet boy, even asked to wear a scarf while he waited for the bus. I would have gladly obliged but we were already at the bus stop, waiting on said bus when he asked about it.

Oh, letting us not leave out all the Starbucks-y details- I had a hot white chocolate mocha that I drank setting by the automatic doors that when opened let in the chilliest of breezes.

All that to say, I think we can now officially, safely say that fall has arrived. Remind me of my jubilation when I am complaining about how cold it is, ok?

Ooh, I love this slightly nippy weather we are having. I am still walking around in my short-sleeves even though turtlenecks (even woollen ones) are out in full force on Japanese girls around Tokyo already. The moment Japan cooled to 30 degree celsius, the Japanese girls started wearing their long boots already. They really love their boots.

This weather also means an end to roaches. Yay!

Hi! This is Liezl from the modkid blog. I really enjoy reading about you life with kids in Japan. I've just been living here for a year now so it's so nice to know some people who I can relate to a bit more! Our kids look like they are similar ages? My son is 3 1/2 years old and my daughter is 1 1/2 years old.
