The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

some people just get so stuck in a rut it takes a while to get them out...(((hugs)))
my ex husband is american but grew up in another country ... caused some interesting paradoxes.i have no advice ... it's a really hard place for you ... i cannot imagine. i'm sorry.
This really sucks.Good on your DH for trying to get things sorted out.
i'm sorry. sometimes it's so hard to get people to think outside of the box...
How are you today? I hope that things got sorted out and that you feel less upset today. Try not to let this spoil the rest of Christmas for you - YOUR little family will appreciate what you do for them!
Sorry to hear about the hard times. My best wishes for a happy holiday. I hope everything works out well.
I'm so sorry! How are things now?Amy
I'm so sorry to hear this, how are things going?
My husband (Japanese) just told me last night that we shouldn't buy gifts for his niece and nephew either. I said, "But it is Christmas!" Your MIL's perspective helped me understand it a little better. It does make Christmas kind of empty.
