When Bailey gets sick, he usually doesn't want to eat. Feeling bad makes him a crabby patty, but combine it with low blood sugar from not eating and he is almost unbearable. I found this recipe from Real Simple for an Energy smoothie and so I decided to make it. He loved it and even asks for it sometimes for a snack or quick breakfast.
Energy Smoothie
1/2 cup orange juice 4 to 6 strawberries, hulled and sliced 1/2 banana 1/4 cup silken tofu (about 3 ounces) 1 tablespoon honey or sugar 6 ice cubes Puree until smooth

We love smoothies in our household, so we'll be trying this recipe!
Have you ever tried pouring smoothies into a popsicle mold and freezing it? We do this and Snuggle Bug LOVES it! :)
Thanks for participating in my Five Ingredient Friday recipe exchange!
I leave for our trip in about 2 hours!
I have to save this one for when I need some kid-friendly recipes. Thanks!
now, that sounds right good...I feel like my sugar or something is low cause I'm a pretty crabby patty myself...grumfpfff
Oooh, this looks like a great healthy smoothies recipe. I'll try it, thanks Trisha! :)
I had never thought of using tofu. Interesting. I often use plain yogurt. I'll give this a try. I need all the energy I can get. Thanks bunches!
