WFMW II

My creation
Originally uploaded by trishay2003.

The busiest parts of the day, for me, are the morning when everybody's hungry and ready to go, and the evening when everybody starts to get a bit sleepy. To help ease the confusion and to help from running around like a chicken with my head cut off I have devised a simple way to organize and survive.

I use plastic baskets, one with blue handles for Bailey and one with pink handles for Sophie. For the morning, the baskets contain one complete outfit, a diaper and toys to keep Bailey entertained while I feed Sophie. In Bailey's basket I usually put a juice box and a small snack like graham crackers in case he can't wait for breakfast. He knows where his basket is and gets himself dressed, has a snack and plays with his toys, giving me time to get Sophie ready.

While the kids nap, I prepare the baskets for the evening. Pajamas, towel, wash cloth, cotton swabs, lotion, diaper rash ontiment, Bailey's current favorite Goodnight Moon as well as Sohpie's lovey and Bailey's best friend- a dog-shaped change purse that he sleep with every night are all put in their respective baskets. Sometimes, if I am running a little late Bailey will even go get his basket and bring it to me to remind me.

My husband is away on business trips a lot and as per se in Japan, works late most evenings so this helps me keep my sanity and makes things run more smoothly.

PS- For my 100th entry I am working to compile a list of 100 uses for chopsticks and I need your help. Click here to read the list and leave your ideas. Thanks!!

WOW!!!! I'm worn out just trying to remember to stay organized. You've inspired me. Will I try any of that? I have NO idea. I'm a slacker mom. Urrgh! Feel my pain? LOL

What a great idea! I already lay out outfits for the kids, but you're a brilliant mom for laying out snacks and toys, too!

I love the plastic bins. What a great way to keep it all together. Where do you keep them?
