Still In Your Pajamas???

Yup, that's how we spent most of our weekend. At home, in pajamas, watching DVDs and drinking tons of orange juice. We all came down with a slight cold- just enough to make you feel tired and cranky but not enough to put us all out of commission, so we decided to just stay at home and wait it out.

Feeling even just a little under the weather is a great excuse for letting the laundry go another day and just hanging out. I made two different kinds of soup- one was a Chinese soup with egg, spinach, green onions and sesame seed oil (it smelled and tasted fantastic and has become Hubs new favorite) and the other was with chicken stock, carrots, potatoes, onions, cabbage and bacon (the kids put rice in with their soup and ate it all with a grilled cheese sandwich).

Tomorrow it is back to the real world- pre-school for Bailey, daycare for Sophie and housecleaning and studying for the Japanese proficiency test for me. (Hubs left earlier this afternoon on a business trip.) A nice escape while it lasted, though.

Hi...I've been reading your blog for a while and really should've introduced myself! Live in Gifu-ken with Dh and Dd(11). Love your take on things...makes me laugh! Good luck with the JLPT...I'm doing that too. Ok...back to the books!

The things on their heads are Japan's answer to a cold wash cloth on your forehead when you have a fever. The have a sticky, cooling gel and feel really good when you have a fever. Sophie didn't actually have a fever she just wanted to be like big brother!!
