Use Your Words

"Use your words." has become the battle cry around here recently. In an attempt to curb temper tantrums we are encouraging Bailey to tell us what he wants/ needs so that we can both avoid feeling frustrated. Little did we know how expressive he would become. (Thanks to Tanyetta at Days Like These for the idea. Check her out at calimckoys.blogspot.com. She is one awesome Mommy!)

Last night taking a bath with Bailey as he is washing himself off he names the body part. "Bailey wash hand, foot, etc." So he is washing his penis and looks up at me and says, "What's Daddy's penis doing?" Not knowing quite what to say I offer up a lame, "I am not sure." Bailey shrugs and says, "He must have taken it to work with him." Yes son, I hope he did.

After a particularly loud toot, he smiled and said, "Wow! Bailey butt is noisy!"

He just brought me his pajamas and said, "Guess it's about time."

He also is trying bigger and harder words with sometimes very funny results:
kechapacku for ketchup
pasatata for pasta
pachasticks for chopsticks
patakiller for caterpillar (my personal favorite)
piticucha for picture

In related news, Daddy threw me for a loop this morning. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Gosh, these last few days I just feel tired all the time.
Him: Why is that?
Me: I think it just might be the heat.
Him: Sure you aren't pregnant?
Me: (taken aback) I, uh, well, uh I am pretty sure it is just the heat.
