Close Animal Encounters

Last Sunday, we went to a drive through safari park. We bought animal feed and waited for the animals to approach our car. Can't you just tell that this one was a messy, slobbery eater?

There was also a little zoo that had some cool animals, including this kangaroo momma and baby.

Sophie as Steve Irwin and Abbie sneaking into the picture.

Another attempt at getting all three kids together for a picture. At least, the turtle stood still.

Bailey feeding the potbelly pigs.

Sophie and Abbie trying their hand at it too.

I just liked the way this kinda looked like Siamese giraffes.

My mama feeding a llama.

That's me feeding an ostrich.

A "Fair" Day

Sophie showing off her prize dolphin that she got for making the bell ring with a sledge hammer.

Bailey sat this one out, but Sophie really enjoyed her first roller coaster.

The bat Bailey won from the same sledge hammer game as Sophie.

These were spinning dragons- kinda like the tea cups at Disney Land.

Sidewalk Chalk

Reason number 402 I wish we had a yard at home.

You So Silly

The kid's first experience with silly string.

Abbie taking a break and getting all tangled up.

Right before cleaning it all up.

Movie Day

We took the kids to see Madagascar 3 today. Good lord, I forgot how yummy movie popcorn was!

At The Park

Bailey had to see saw by himself after Sophie fell off and refused to get back on.

Sophie loves swinging!

I had no luck getting all three kids to look at the camera at the same time. This is as good as it got!

Climbing around in the big wooden ship.

Painting In The Sunshine

First, I got sick and then shared it with the kids and a few other people too and so we spent Saturday just taking it easy. When the kids started getting cabin fever, we used the white side of some old wrapping paper to paint on. It was a good way to pass the time and enjoy the nice weather.

Fun In The US

Enjoying frozen yogurt with a gazillion different toppings to choose from. You add whatever you want and then pay by weight. It was a little pricey, but fun.

Helping cousin Abbie to figure out the slide.

Having too much fun in the jumpy house.

Less than enthusiastic about posing with the miner statue.

Meeting Clifford the big red dog.

Summer Vacation, So Far So Good

Two days into this thing they call summer vacation and the kids are playing hard and sleeping until 7:30. Other things I love about summer vacation so far:

*Not having to rush, rush, rush
*Taking afternoon naps all piled on the bed together
*The amazing powers of the pet store to keep the kids entertained for at least an hour (Sophie loves the dogs and cats. Bailey is fascinated by the turtles and mice.)
*Hoola hoops. The kids love to play a life size game of ring toss with me as the post. Hey, whatever keeps them entertained.
*Fresh peaches with the juice running down little chins.
*The way Bailey can make a friend out of anybody- the shy boy at the park, the stranger in the elevator, the cashier at the supermarket.
*Hearing Sophie say Mommee and Dadee instead of Mama and Dada.
*The kids entertaining themselves with stickers and paper and making presents for the parents.

Remain positive. Think of this summer vacation as an adventure. Find the magic. Keep it simple. Hooray for summer!!!
