The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

Summer Vacation, So Far So Good
Two days into this thing they call summer vacation and the kids are playing hard and sleeping until 7:30. Other things I love about summer vacation so far:
*Not having to rush, rush, rush
*Taking afternoon naps all piled on the bed together
*The amazing powers of the pet store to keep the kids entertained for at least an hour (Sophie loves the dogs and cats. Bailey is fascinated by the turtles and mice.)
*Hoola hoops. The kids love to play a life size game of ring toss with me as the post. Hey, whatever keeps them entertained.
*Fresh peaches with the juice running down little chins.
*The way Bailey can make a friend out of anybody- the shy boy at the park, the stranger in the elevator, the cashier at the supermarket.
*Hearing Sophie say Mommee and Dadee instead of Mama and Dada.
*The kids entertaining themselves with stickers and paper and making presents for the parents.
Remain positive. Think of this summer vacation as an adventure. Find the magic. Keep it simple. Hooray for summer!!!
