It Is Only A One Day Trip So Why The Kitchen Sink?

So, I guess we have decided to take the kids to Tokyo Disney tomorrow. Yes I know it will be hot and crowded with about a million people all wanting to do the same thing at the same time, but it was the best we could come up. And, besides, Bailey is pretty excited about going to "Mickey's house". So I thought I would get somethings together today so we could leave first thing in the morning to enjoy as much of the park as possible before the kids peter out.

There is a place near Bailey's school were you can rent all kinds of things for parties, babies, whatever. After I dropped Bailey off at school I went to inquire about a twin stroller, thinking it might come in handy tomorrow when everybody is all hot, sweaty, grouchy and tired. No such luck. They had one but the seats didn't recline and since Sophie can't sit up yet it was a no go. Then a stop at the drug store for bottled water for Sophie and some snacks to take with us. Then, on to Jusco to get some bread for breakfast tomorrow and some stick milk to take with us.

We get home, Sophie goes down for a nap and I start getting things packed up. For Sophie you can't leave home without water, milk, bottles, burp cloths, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, juice, a sun hat, blanket and a few toys. Then, for Bailey it is pocket tissues (he always has a runny nose) diapers, wipes, juice, snacks, hat, change of clothes and a towel. Then throw in some sunblock and a first aid kit just in case and there you have it- everything and the kitchen sink (at least that's what it feels like I am lugging around).

I have always admired and envied those MacGyver (?) kind of Moms would could handle any situation with a pair of tweezers and a stick of gum. They have twelve kids in tow and one small, bedazzled evening bag holds all they could ever want or need. Come to think of it I probably wanted the twin stroller to help carry all the junk I insist we bring along, forget about the kids let them fight for themselves!!!

And OH MY GOD, I just realized I forgot the camera and handy wipes and ...... Ah heck, forget about the twin stroller somebody get me a wheelbarrow quick!!!!

Reading through some of your past posts I could not help but laugh. God, I remember those days. Mine are now 13 and almost 9 and I complain because my son puts his wallet and phone in my purse! It does get easier in some ways, but you get a new set of worries!

So what your saying is I will never, ever again be able to leave the house with my cell phone in one pocket and some money in the other?!? All I can say is it is a great thing that you can rent strollers at Tokyo Disneyland to tote around all the stuff you brought just in case.
